By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. Authentic learning is central to our work as Catholic educators because it promotes the continual growth and wellbeing of the whole person — spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.
The leadership team and teaching staff at St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School Summer Hill play an integral part in the leadership of our school and have a key role in the development of a rich and varied curriculum. We have embraced 21st century teaching pedagogy and together have invested significant effort into creating a school wide approach to learning. This approach has been adopted by teachers to shape their actions, judgments and teaching strategies utilised. Individual students’ needs, backgrounds and interests, as well as theories of learning are taken into consideration in formulating our approach to learning.
